Maple Leaf Learning Academy serves students from Kindergarten through Grade 12. We offer programs tailored to each developmental stage, from foundational skills in elementary grades to advanced preparation for university in high school. Our tutoring services and enrichment programs are available for all grade levels.
We conduct an informal assessment to understand your child's current academic level, learning style, and areas where they might need support or challenge. This is not a pass/fail test but rather a tool to help us create the best learning plan for your child. The assessment helps us place students in appropriate programs and classes.
Our approach combines several key advantages: small class sizes (maximum 12 students per class), personalized attention from experienced teachers, flexible program options including online learning, comprehensive curriculum aligned with Ontario standards, and a supportive environment that builds confidence alongside academic skills. We focus on each student as an individual, not just a number.
Yes! We offer comprehensive online learning programs with live, interactive classes taught by our qualified teachers. Students can access course materials 24/7, participate in virtual classrooms, and receive the same quality instruction as our in-person programs. Online learning is available for academic courses, tutoring, and select enrichment programs.
We offer comprehensive coverage of core subjects including Mathematics, Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), English Language Arts, French, Social Studies, and Computer Science. Additionally, we provide enrichment in areas like STEM, arts, music, drama, and physical activities through our after-school programs.
Our regular hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. We offer various program schedules including morning, afternoon, and evening classes to accommodate different family needs. After-school programs typically run from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Summer camps operate on different schedules, typically 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Yes! One of the benefits of our tutoring services is scheduling flexibility. We work with families to find times that fit their schedules. Tutoring sessions are available throughout the week, including evenings and weekends. We recommend consistent scheduling (e.g., same day and time each week) for best results, but we can accommodate changes when needed.
Tuition varies depending on the program, frequency of classes, and whether you choose group or individual instruction. We offer competitive rates and flexible payment plans. Please contact us directly for detailed pricing information specific to your needs. We're happy to discuss options that fit your budget and provide information about any available scholarships or financial assistance.
Yes, we offer monthly payment plans for most programs to make tuition more manageable. We accept various payment methods including credit cards, debit cards, and electronic bank transfers. We can set up automatic monthly payments for your convenience. Please speak with our admissions team about the payment options that work best for your family.
We offer limited need-based scholarships and financial assistance for families who qualify. Scholarship availability varies by program and session. We believe financial circumstances should not prevent motivated students from accessing quality education. Please contact us confidentially to discuss your situation and explore available options.
All our teachers hold university degrees and teaching certifications. Many have advanced degrees (Master's or Ph.D.) in their subject areas. Beyond credentials, we select teachers who are passionate about education, skilled at connecting with students, and committed to ongoing professional development. Our team includes former public and private school teachers with years of classroom experience.
We maintain small class sizes with a maximum of 12 students per class, ensuring personalized attention. For tutoring, we offer one-on-one sessions or small groups of 3-4 students. This low ratio allows teachers to adapt instruction to individual learning styles, provide immediate feedback, and build strong relationships with students.
Student safety is our top priority. Our facility has secure entry systems, supervised arrivals and departures, and clear emergency procedures. All staff undergo background checks. We maintain appropriate safety protocols including first aid availability, allergy management systems, and health screening procedures. Our facility is regularly inspected and meets all safety regulations.
If a student becomes ill during a program, we will contact parents/guardians immediately. We have a comfortable area where the student can rest while waiting to be picked up. For students with chronic health conditions or specific medical needs, we work with families to develop appropriate care plans. We ask that parents keep children home when they show symptoms of illness to protect all students and staff.
Our summer camps typically run from late June through August, in one-week or two-week sessions. We offer various themed camps including STEM, Creative Arts, Outdoor Education, and Academic Enrichment. Registration usually opens in early spring. Camp schedules, themes, and availability are posted on our website and sent to enrolled families via email.
During your initial consultation, we'll discuss your child's academic performance, interests, goals, and any specific challenges. Based on this conversation and the assessment results, we'll recommend programs that best fit your child's needs. We can start with one program and add others as needed. Our team is always available to reassess and adjust as your child grows and develops.
We believe in strong parent-teacher communication. You'll receive regular progress reports, have access to our online portal to track assignments and grades, and can schedule parent-teacher conferences at any time. Teachers are also available via email and phone for questions or concerns. For tutoring students, tutors provide session notes after each meeting detailing what was covered and areas for continued focus.
